Since most of the books I'm reading were series, I've developed a habit of reading two to three books at a time. Not advisable, I know. Others might find it confusing, but it's a different situation for me. I'm not really certain, but if it's an exciting series, I won't last long not getting and reading it though I have a current read. When I was waiting for Cress by Marissa Meyer, I've stumbled upon a new series by Jennifer Armentrout: The Dark Elements.

Bitter Sweet Love is apparently the prequel of this series. Yeah. Crazy. It's like an overview of the series or not the series at all but how a certain situation will turn up eventually. I hate when authors do this. Why create a prequel book if you can already start with book one? God! It's only 105 pages. You see? Silly.
I am being glum about this just by the mere fact that this series would be a hit. I'm really upset when I turned the page only to realized, it's already the last one. I can't wait to get my hands on the first book. Such creativity. Who in the world would write about gargoyles and make them adorable? There goes Jennifer. I bet you know how gargoyles look and I don't even know why they exist aside from the fact that they are being used on buildings to divide the flow of water from the roof when it's raining, according to Wiki. This book had me looking at gargoyles in a totally different manner and how bizarre it is that aside from angels and demons, there are wardens. Well, read the prequel so you can figure out what they are. Perhaps prequels are useful nonetheless. This has such unique concept and plot, never heard of this concept before. It usually boils down to good versus evil, angels versus demons and the like, but this book has something on it that makes me want to read more. The book cover is not so appealing though. Feels like any other books that you could pick out on a bookstore. Nothing exceptional about it. It could have been better if it could outshine The Lux series' book covers since this is new. Well, I'm just thinking out loud there.
I am currently reading Cress of the Lunar Chronicles so I might juggle it with White Hot Kiss, Dark Element's first book, if I got it sooner. It was released 25th of February this year so I'm pretty sure it's out there. I've read the excerpt and I honestly think that it would be something to look forward to, plus it has 400 pages. Haven't read it yet, but it's definite that I'll be including book two, Stone Cold Touch, in the books I'm dying to read. It will be out the 28th of October this year. Knowing Ms. Armentrout to be creating guys who were swoon worthy and astonishing twists, this series is again a must read.
