Waiting on Wednesday #9

Here's another series on debut that I'm eagerly waiting for. I'm not so certain if this is Lori's first series though, but I really think that this is going to be an interesting read so I'm pretty excited.

In the Labyrinth, we had a saying: keep silent, keep still, keep safe.

In a city of walls and secrets, where only one man is supposed to possess magic, seventeen-year-old Kai struggles to keep hidden her own secret—she can manipulate the threads of time. When Kai was eight, she was found by Reev on the riverbank, and her “brother” has taken care of her ever since. Kai doesn’t know where her ability comes from—or where she came from. All that matters is that she and Reev stay together, and maybe one day move out of the freight container they call home, away from the metal walls of the Labyrinth. Kai’s only friend is Avan, the shopkeeper’s son with the scandalous reputation that both frightens and intrigues her.

Then Reev disappears. When keeping silent and safe means losing him forever, Kai vows to do whatever it takes to find him. She will leave the only home she’s ever known and risk getting caught up in a revolution centuries in the making. But to save Reev, Kai must unravel the threads of her past and face shocking truths about her brother, her friendship with Avan, and her unique power.

Released date will be on the 5th of August, 2014 by Skyscape. It's exactly 13 days from now and I couldn't wait to get my copy. I really want to join the Book Giveaway where they will be giving out 20 free books, but my heart shattered from the fact that the giveaway is available for US book lovers only. Sigh. Too bad. Well if you're from the US, you can click the photo below so you could join..

On a lighter note, Lori Lee and Sarah Fine will have a Virtual Release Party on Twitter a day before the release date of Gates of Thread and Stone so that's on the 4th of August around 8pm EST. They will also be giving away a lot of awesome prizes that include amazing books from different authors. If you want to know the mechanics and the prizes, check out her website..

Virtual Release Party

I'm so excited. Hopefully, I could join this one and let me know if you will join too. Anyway, you can tell me about the books you’re dying to read. Perhaps I could check it out. 😊

Waiting on Wednesday was started by Breaking the Spine and serves to showcase those books that aren’t released yet, but that we’re eagerly awaiting!
