This week's feature I think is the most anticipated book I've seen. A lot of book lovers are definitely waiting for this one. When I've looked through Google with updates, all I've seen were blogs with Waiting on Wednesday as title. Like seriously? Well, count me in. I can't even explain how excited I am. Ha! Ha! The book cover. The blurb. The Author. I. Need. This. 😊
The clock chimes midnight, a curse breaks, and a girl meets a prince . . . but what follows is not all sweetness and sugarplums.
New York City, 1899. Clara Stole, the mayor's ever-proper daughter, leads a double life. Since her mother's murder, she has secretly trained in self-defense with the mysterious Drosselmeyer.
Then, on Christmas Eve, disaster strikes.
Her home is destroyed, her father abducted--by beings distinctly not human. To find him, Clara journeys to the war-ravaged land of Cane. Her only companion is the dethroned prince Nicholas, bound by a wicked curse. If they're to survive, Clara has no choice but to trust him, but his haunted eyes burn with secrets--and a need she can't define. With the dangerous, seductive faery queen Anise hunting them, Clara soon realizes she won't leave Cane unscathed--if she leaves at all.
Inspired by The Nutcracker, Winterspell is a dark, timeless fairy tale about love and war, longing and loneliness, and a girl who must learn to live without fear.

Expected publication would be on the 30th of September 2014 by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. It will be 464 pages in hardcover. The Nutcracker. Geez.. This book made me Google the fairytale. I've forgot all about it. Anyway, the book cover is gorgeous. Lucy Ruth Cummins did an amazing job, I want to be wed with it. The blurb is striking enough to compliment the book cover. So beautiful. Hey my all time favorite author has something to say about this and I quote:
What a mesmerizing whirlwind of a story! I was simultaneously horrified and enchanted by the land of Cane, with all its passion and mysteries, magic and mechaniks. Claire Legrand’s writing has the grace of a ballet, but this is definitely not your grandmother’s Nutcracker tale.
-- Marissa Meyer, New York Times bestselling author of The Lunar Chronicles
I literally wanted to squeal when I've read it. I love Marissa and I'm so glad she loves this too. I can't wait to get a copy. Oh. My. I'm looking for updates and giveaways, but I can't find any. The giveaway I found closed in March. Lame. How come didn't I know about that? I'm such a loser so now I need to wait for the publication date. See what happens when you've decided to live under a rock once in your life? I'm actually sulking in a corner when I came across Claire's blog about what one can do while waiting for stuff and it's so hilarious complete with doodles. I instantly felt better. Check it out! 😃
How To Not Go Crazy While Waiting For Stuff
I really wish I could join giveaways for this book and if by any chance you know about something. Will you let me know? *eyelashes.batting* Anyway, you can tell me about the books you’re dying to read. Perhaps I could check it out. 😊
Waiting on Wednesday was started by Breaking the Spine and serves to showcase those books that aren’t released yet, but that we’re eagerly awaiting!
